Best Plant Shops in Nashville
Where are my Nashville plant mommas?! This one is for you. One of my favorite past times is wandering the aisles at plant shops. The pandemic took my plant hoarding situation to a new level thanks to these Nashville spots. Make sure to check out this local, small businesses who truly have a passion for plants! Here are my suggestions for the best plant shops in Nashville!
Hewitt Garden and Design
If you are looking for more exotic or rare plants, Hewitt's is a plant mama's DREAM. There are greenhouses on greenhouses full of anything your heart could desire. My favorite is the succulent room, filled with cacti that are older than I am. They also have a killer selection of pots/accessories. It is on the pricier side so come ready to spend around $20 minimum for a standard 6" pot. Also, this is on my list of the most Instagrammable spots in Nashville. They are chill with you taking photos there as long as you ask!
Denizen
Next on the list of the best plant shops in Nashville is Denizen plant shop in the Nations. Their plant selection is an ebb and flow of quantity. But they always have VERY healthy planties. Denizen also sells women's and mens clothing, baby gifts, and home wares. The girls who snag your cash are the NICEST humans ever and everything in there is super unique. This is my favorite spot to grab plant accessories like my mister, plant stands, and pots!
Gardens of Babylon
Located within the farmer's market in Germantown, this plant shop is the closest to Downtown. Gardens of Babylon’s large selection of mature tropical plants is top notch, so expect to pay for it! But their staff is super knowledgable and will repot your plants for you. Not to mention they have a super Instagrammable pot section and plant wall! I love to grab a snack from inside the farmer's market and wander around this place!
Flora
Flora Plant Shop originated in Nashville as a pop-up trailer slinging planties left and right. Not only do they have a killer selection of healthy, tropical plants, they also offer personal home consultations. During these consultations, they come to your home and figure out what plants would work best in your space based on the light. You can also rent plants for your event! Make sure to check out this women-owned shop at either of their two locations in East and Franklin! Click here to check out their space!
Yarrow Acres
Located in a historic downtown Franklin shop on Main Street, a trip to Yarrow Acres is the perfect excuse to head south for the day. Franklin is just 30 minutes from Nashville and the quintessential small town of Tennessee. The exposed brick interiors intermingle with a high quality selection of plants that thrive in our hot summer days!
Lawrence Cacti & Co
If you want to talk shop and make the most out of your plant shopping experience, head to Lawrence and Cacti Co in Old Hickory. This female owned shop has the nicest store clerks that are experts in the plant department. The interiors stocked full of common household plants and organized by light requirement. The cacti and higher light plants are stocked up front near the windows. And the lower light plants to the back. They also have a good selection of macrame hangers and watering cans!
Bonus tip for plant lovers... In between plant shop hopping, grab some grub at Greenhouse Bar in Green Hills. Their spot is overflowing with gorgeous plants and no bugs making it the perfect place to chill. If you love gardens, check out Cheekwood, an estate with amazing gardens on their grounds! There are also pop up plant shops all the time. A few of my favorites are Varnish and Vine cactus pop up, Amelia's Flower Truck, and Little Pot Head. Check out their sites and support these awesome hustles.
As a local plant momma, these are definitely some of my favorite stores in town. Each more unique than the next. So make sure to show them some love, over the Home Depots and Walmarts of the world.
