Where to Find Summer Sunflowers around Nashville
Summer is not complete without a trip to a local Tennessee farm. There are loads of family owned farms that offer U-Pick flowers, including sunflowers! The best time to catch them in full bloom is between late July and early August, depending on when they were planted in the spring. Wanna know the best places to snag a bundle and make a day out of it?! Here’s our list of go to spots for summer sunflowers!
Batey Farms
Batey Farms is located in Murfreesboro, only about 30 minutes from downtown Nashville. They have been operating as a family farm since the 1800’s. Click here for the Facebook page that will let you know once they bloom!
Smith Perry Berries
Located in Ooltewah, near Chattanooga, Smith Parry Berries Farms is the perfect day trip from Nashville. Do some vintage shopping, stop by the old train station, and then end your day with sunset U-Pick flowers. It is $15 for a bucket for as many as you can pick or $ per stem. Menkveld Farms
Join them on select Fridays in July/August for their U-Pick flowers! If you wanna know more about how to grow your own sunflowers or just more about farming in general, they have 2 hour farm tours twice a month. Click here to learn more about dates!
Liberty Grace Farms
At $1 a stem, this U-Pick festival is definitely one to check out. It is $10 a person at the gate per person. If you wanna bring your pet with you for pics, take them on July 30th to their dog day! They also offer U-Pick tulips in the spring! Click here for more info on their Sunflower Fest!
Berries on the Bend
Open on the weekend in Lebanon, their uPick Bouquets are $25 each and include 15-20 stems. For those who just want to visit and not pick flowers, we offer a “Just Visiting” ticket for $5. They do not offer sunflowers but they do have amazing wildflowers. Private uPick Parties for groups of 5 are also available.
The Grove at Williamson Place
If you are looking for a picturesque place to take photos with sunflowers without picking them, there are other farms like The Grove at Williamson Place or South 40. Also just keep your eyes peeled when you are driving around during this time. Guaranteed that you’ll see some on some side roads and when you get outta town a bit. Hint: Head towards the Narrows of the Harpeth.
